Canikin is a contemporary restaurant and cafe located in Al Assima Mall. It was designed and supervised by the brilliant people at Atelier Aziz Al Qatami.

The ceiling and flooring are made of mustard yellow Micro-cement and walls are covered with light Plywood veneer, creating a nice and bold contrast between the two main materials.

The ceiling was parametrically curved to resemble the inside of a hot air balloon. This was achieved by casting molds of GRG panels and plastering over them after application.

As for lighting, both the directional wall lights and the t5 lights encased in acrylic above the counter area were custom-made.
